Loud Whisper Productions is currently in post-production on a short narrative entitled “No Sharp Objects,” filmed on location in Edmonton, Alberta in late January / early February 2010.

The piece explores the subject of guilt as it manifests itself in a rather unconventional manner.

She acted as the editor for Skyline Motion Picture’s feature film “Unfinished Business,” which recently secured worldwide distribution in six languages.

Most recently, she was credited as an Associate Producer and Casting Director for Lightframe Entertainment’s feature “Money,” scheduled for release later this year.

On Tuesday, December 29th, a photo shoot was held at Edmonton’s City Hall to capture some prop photos for the set of “No Sharp Objects.” Real life husband and wife, Stephen Locke and Suzan Nowaczynski, dusted off their wedding attire to play the Bride and Groom one last time. Portraiture and wedding photographers, Shaun Scade and Stephanie Emmerzael, of Scade Photography (www.scadephotography.com) imparted their services, helping the shoot go off without a hitch. Check out their blog posting about the shoot at www.thescades.com

Writer/Director Wes Miron had to “phone it in,” joked Stephen, about his giving character advice and direction over the phone prior to the commencement of the shoot.

To make Stephen look older in between shooting the wedding photos and an author’s photo for a book his character wrote, Suzan pulled double duty as both an actor and make-up artist for the day.

With a little experimentation with liquid latex, and some baby powder, we successfully managed to add about ten years to Stephen’s face.

T.C. Anderson - Stunt Coordinator

T.C. went from playing Cowboys and Indians in his backyard as a child, to living it out, working as a Hollywood actor/stuntman in film and television. T.C. is also a stunt coordinator who uses his “knock ‘em down, shoot ‘em up” experience to safely coordinate other performers in action scenes. He has worked on numerous film and television productions with various celebrities, including I Robot, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Alien vs. Predator, X-Files, Shooter, and Rumble in the Bronx, to name a few. He has also worked alongside some big names, such as Al Pacino, Harrison Ford, Faye Dunaway, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and Farrah Fawcett.

NEWS

This past weekend was chalk full of preparations for “No Sharp Objects.” We held rehearsals, costume fittings, and on January 18,  we choreographed the fight scene with Stunt Choreographer Timothy Anderson.

Ecko Goffic - Jodi

Ecko Goffic found her passion for acting watching a play called, “The Hobbit”. She has been engaged in independent films, one which is circulating in film festivals in the States called “Love Hate Tragedy” directed by Matt Acosta. She has also been involved in a few orientation and educational videos; one titled, “Francophone Case Study” directed by Michael Olson which was nominated for Best Educational in 2009’s Rosies.

Ecko had the wonderful opportunity to work Mary Harron  on “Fear Itself” television series in the “Community” episode.

Recently she has wrapped an independent feature called “Money”, directed by Ken Nemetchek. She has great aspirations of one day completing her BA.

Stephen Locke - Ben

Coming Soon

Left: Stephen Locke as Ben and Ecko Goffic as Jodi.

Stephen and Ecko met for the first time at the rehearsal, and had to get really comfortable with each other, really quickly. Here they rehearse the scene, just before the fight begins.

Left: Stunt Coordinator Timothy Anderson demonstrates how to safely, yet convincingly, strangle someone.

Below: Stephen, as Ben, rehearses the lessons he’s been taught.

The fight scene is a very specific challenge, as Director Wes Miron envisioned it shot in one wide shot. In order to avoid tricking an audience with fast cutting, it will be all take place in one, long choreographed motion, with essentially no cutting. Without editing to sell the violence, Stunt Choreographer Timothy Anderson had his work cut out for him, trying to maintain actor safety while effectively selling the scene.

Right: Ecko takes a moment to breath in between rehearsals.

As violent as it appears, it was really Ecko’s ability to sell the intensity that makes the  scene work.
